Adam J. Ericsen, PhD
Position title: D. O'Connor Laboratory 2011-2016
Research Title: Determinants of Immunodeficiency Virus Pathogenesis – Nature meets Nurture
Research Description: Adam Ericsen’s project focused on understanding the complex relationship between a pathogen and its host specifically using macaque monkeys infected with simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Adam combined whole genome sequencing and 16S ribosomal DNA sequencing of peripheral blood with immunophenotyping (flow cytometry) to understand how SIV-specific immune responses were affected by host genetic variation and variation within host-resident microbial communities. His work is described in detail in the publications below.
Dr. Ericsen is now an Assistant Research Professor at Emory University’s Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
